Taiwanese Psychological Association is now a National Member of IUPsyS

Taiwanese Psychological Association(TPA) has formally become a National Member of the International Union of Psychological Science, IUPsyS.

President Cooper arrived in Taipei yesterday and presented the Membership Certificate to the Taiwanese Psychological Association.

IUPsyS works to promote the development, representation and advancement of psychology as a basic and applied science nationally, regionally, and internationally. The main activities of the IUPsyS focus on fostering the development of the science and practice of psychology.

The IUPsyS sponsors an International Congress of Psychology (ICP) every four years. The next Congress will be held in Prague, Czech Republic, 2020.

2017-2018 The APA-IUPsyS Global Mental Health Fellowship

The APA-IUPsyS Global Mental Health Fellowship (GMHF) provides a unique opportunity for a psychologist to contribute to the work of World Health Organization (WHO), in the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse for a period of one year.

The Fellow will focus on one or more issues related to the WHO Mental Health Action Plan. The Fellowship intends to provide psychologists with exposure to and involvement with international global mental health policy and implementation and contribute to the more effective use of psychological knowledge and research in global mental health policy and implementation.

The 13th Asia Pacific Conference on Vision 2017

The 13th annual Asia Pacific Conference on Vision (APCV) will be hosted in Tainan City, Taiwan, from July 13-17, 2017. The conference is aimed toward facilitating cross talk on vision research in Asian and Oceanian regions, while participants from all over the world are also welcome. The program consists of invited lectures, symposia and contributed papers. Original works for the papers on all aspects of vision research are invited to present. The addressed topics includes: visual psychophysics, visual physiology/anatomy, visual cognition, perception and attention, computational vision, social perception, brain imaging, eye movements, multisensory perception, visual development, artificial vision, reading and word recognition, face and object perception, art and visual science, and clinical vision.

The conference will be conducted in English.

Faculty Positions Opening, Department of Psychology, National Cheng-Kung University.

The Department of Psychology at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan city, Taiwan, invites applications for a tenure track position. Salary is commensurate with rank and experience, and is determined according to a government regulated scale. The preferred areas of research are developmental psychology, social/personality/Industrial and Organizational psychology. The main selection criterion is distinction in research and flexibility in teaching.

The Department includes an undergraduate program and a master’s program in psychology, which emphasizes theoretical research. The Department emphasizes teaching of basic psychological knowledge and training of research skills. Excellent computing and research facilities support the teaching and research in the Department.
